The U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Council is pleased to announce the selection process for the next Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup, to be held in Shelbyville, Kentucky from October 4-10, 2010.
Here's how it works...
A number of automatic bid recipients can earn trips to the Selection Trials by way of a win in one of several qualifying National Finals, or through nomination from their breed associations. For the three-gaited team, twelve automatic bids may be extended. These will be offered to the winners of the following 2010 finals (assuming they meet all eligibility requirements): UPHA Senior, UPHA Senior Pleasure, UPHA Adult, UPHA Senior Arabian, UPHA Senior Morgan, UPHA Senior National Show Horse (NSH), USEF Saddle Seat Medal, USEF Adult Amateur Medal and NHS Good Hands Event. Additionally, to strengthen representation of all breeds at the Selection Trials, one rider will be nominated by each of the following breed associations: American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA), Arabian Horse Association (AHA) and National Show Horse Registry (NSHR). An automatic bid to the five-gaited team trials will be extended to the winner of the Saddle & Bridle Five-Gaited Horsemanship National Finals and the NSH Five-Gaited Finals. Assuming 100% acceptance of automatic bids and no multiple winners, there will be eight additional bids for the three-gaited and nine for the five-gaited to be chosen by process of application. This will result in 20 three-gaited and 10 five-gaited finalists advancing to the Team Selection Trials event.
